Tele

Tele

When I was recording the songs for my album “White Lies From The Tall Grass” back in 2003/4 I picked up a couple of Telecasters for the sessions.

There used to be a musical instrument shop in Westbury, Wilts as far as I can remember it was called Madcap Music, but it’s no longer there. Anyway when I was passing I would check it out for used guitars. I found this quirky “New York Pro” telecaster with Fender pick ups and hardware in there. A real hybrid but it kind of worked! Also I got a Mexican Nashville tele from Sarum Guitars in Salisbury, a fine little guitar for a cheapie!

I used these two again on a couple more tracks “Twenty Four Towns” and “Take Me Back To The Country” that I’m going to put out as digital download singles in 2014.

Happy New Year!

Destiny EP – This little group of songs I had kicking around

I wrote Destiny, Free Roving Man and Be With Me back in the early nineties, I scored Earthbound Blues, Easy To Find and River Of Love in the mid noughties. So this little group of songs I had kicking around when Terry Richardson, (an old mate of mine) turned up in 2008, back from Ohio and suggested recording some songs. They seemed to have an Americana/Folk type of feel, I have put them together on the Destiny EP.

Welcome along to my website

Hello Everyone,

First up, welcome along to my website. I hope you have time to browse around and find something to your liking.

I do have various solo albums and E. P. s “out there” that can be tracked down, I’ll write about them in future blogs.

My songs reflect how things can change. I may not feel today how I did when I wrote the earlier ones and I guess that future songs would sound strange to my younger self. Perhaps you may find a connection in some way.

Astro Country

Astro Country

Well, this one is close to my heart, the start of the road really. It’s a collection of simple love songs with an Alternative Country feel. I wrote these songs in the nineties and this little album was released in 2005.

I recorded most of it at Tim Madden’s home studio in Wiltshire, England. Tim also sat in on some of the songs with various instruments and effects. The last track ” Destiny ” was recorded in 1993 at Brad’s studio in Salisbury.

White Lies From Tall Grass

White Lies From Tall Grass

This has got to be my Country/Rock album.

It was released in 2008 and put together from sessions recorded at Pete Lamb’s Music Workshop studio in Potterne, Devizes, Wilts.

This is what I wrote about it at the time:

“A kid listens to the sounds from his radio. He could be anywhere in the world. His open mind and heart know no borders.

There’s just this sound. It fires him up. The spark goes deep. It’s cool. Someday it will be born again in him. Then it’s true.
